Passenger alights leaving behind belongings |
Concerned analyst says, “With the economy biting harder
by the day and people coming closer to poverty and suffering, the possibilities
are high for many people to set out in the morning like moving corpses”.
“With the slightest distraction they forget belongings
which they probably dropped somewhere in the car, especially the front side of
at the driver’s area”.
A driver, Olumide Adeoye said, many people forget their
belongings very often these days.
“Once they keep the keep the document, they don’t remember
to pick it when they drop. I have seen many of such property in this my car.
What we do is that, if there is a way to contact the owner, we call him or her
on phone to come to a certain place to collect it. But if there are no contacts,
we dispose the items”.
According to Adeoye , there is one presently in his
custody.
Pointing at the brown hand bag, “here is it. It is a man
bag with many documents inside. I will soon discard it because the owner has
not shown enough seriousness to pick it up”.
He said, “I have called him (the owner) on phone three
times. He hardly had the chance to wait and collect his property. He would call
and tell me he was in Ketu or Oworo, but before I get there, he had left. I
will throw it away before the end of this Week”.
He advised passengers to always hold their items on their
hands to reduce their chances of forgetting them.
