Nigeria's oil output rose in June, as prices decline

In-spite of the accelerated unrest by militants in the Niger Delta, Nigeria’s oil output increased last Month.

Agency report attributed the increase to the quick repairs of infrastructure that had been damaged by militant attacks.

An average of 1.53 million barrels a day was pumped in June, up about 90,000 barrels of crude a day from May.

But that rise in output still fell short of the budget estimate which was bench-marked at 2.2 million barrels a day.

Also, oil price declined which eroded the gain achieved in crude production.
