Most Nigerians Afraid To Be Tested HIV Positive


Despite the assurance that early detection was important to manage HIV, most Nigerians are afraid to be tested positive to the virus.

Their fear is borne out of the fact they could face stigmatization by people who know about their status, the reason many are afraid to present themselves for HIV test.

According to a poll by a research and investigation portal via sms, known as U-Reporter, 69 percent of people interviewed said there were afraid to be tested positive to HIV.

Nevertheless they said they were likely to take HIV test at a nearby health facilities.
