Lion nearly devoured a child at a Lagos Zoo

The Lion

An eight year old boy who went to play with a caged lion, the way he did with chimpanzee and tortoise, narrowly escaped having his hand bitten off by the lonely lion.

The lion which hitherto was sitting motionless rose swiftly in the boy’s direction the moment he put his right hand inside the cage, telling the lion to come for a play.

All along the boy and his younger sister were playing with chimpanzee and tortoise.

The funny chimpanzee which performed acrobatics held and leaked their fingers, while they sat on the tortoise.

When their parents were not looking, the boy ran to the lion to also have a handshake with it and possibly have his fingers leaked by the animal.

Little did he know that the lion was not as friendly as his former friends, the chimpanzee and tortoise.

The tragedy was however averted when one of the tourists raised alarmed and quickly grabbed the boy.

Their terrified parents not only spanked the boy, but also took him home, thus abruptly ending what could have been a full day of fun at the zoo.
