Oil Thieves Connive with Nigeria Military --Documentary

A documentary by a Western Journalist has indicted the Nigeria Military including the JTF and Police , of  having a hand in the incessant oil theft in the Niger Delta region.

The oil thieves said they used to bribe military personnel to give them the conducive environment to operate.

A particular oil thief said he sometimes gave the military men monetary bribe ranging from Five to ten  thousand naira, when they stumbled on their illegal refinery sites right inside the bush.

All the thieves interviewed in the documentary wore head mask which concealed their identities for security reasons. 

The documentary showed many sites of illegal oil refineries which caused serious  degradation of the environment.

It also portrayed the Niger Delta as a very polluted region .

It will be recalled that tthe UN labelled the Niger Delta as among the most polluted areas on earth.
